Lady Gaga is the antithesis of say Janis Joplin or Etta James, stars that Paglias' generation would have resonanted with. But America has always had a taste for the bland and uninteresting whether it be Perry Como or Gaga. As to the death of the sexual revolution hhmmm I am not convinced. There are 'genuine' sexual music stars today, take your pick but Paglia writes so brilliantly when on the attack I wouldn't want her any other way.
